COSMIC JOURNEY is my new solo CD inspired by the movie BLADE RUNNER, which is listed as number one in existential movies. The Arturia Micro-Brute that I use is set for the Blade Runner sound and of course the track Shoulders of Orion is a nod to the "Time to Die" soliloquy of Rutger Hauer's character Roy Batty. Existential questions such as what is life, where is the line between consciousness and simulation are inferred. Replicants, the anthropomorphic androids like Roy are less than human because they lack emotional maturity allowing them to be "retired" by "Blade Runners." Alan Turing would agree that there is little diffeerence between androids and humans since our brains operate like computers. Sartre would disagree. He states existence precedes essence; we first must exist before we can choose that which will make us the person we are, existence precedes essence. COSMIC JOURNEY provides background soundscapes for you to contemplate these ideas.

ESSENCE is my second solo CD inspired by Albert Camus's novel THE STRANGER. I am enthralled with the existential themes in this work and the detached, indifference of the lead character, Mersault. In this effort, I have used selected beats on drum tracks when I recorded the sessions. I used an Epiphone Les paul Model 100, a 12 string Martin Custom X series 12 string, a Yamaha PSR E403 keyboard and an Arturia Micro-Brute Analog Synthesizer all recorded on GarageBand.
